    Privacy Policy

    1. Introduction

    Get AI Resume ("we", "us", or "our") is a free tool for writing and formatting a resume. Get AI Resume is an independently operated tool. This policy explains what we collect and what we do with it. We collect what the service needs to work, and no more.

    2. What we collect

    2.1 Account details

    • Your email address, and a password you choose
    • Your name, if you give one

    2.2 Resume content

    Everything you type into the guided steps: contact details, headline and bio, qualifications, employment history, projects, skills, certifications and languages, plus a profile photo if you add one. This is the content of your resume, and it is stored so you can come back to it.

    2.3 Files you upload

    If you upload an existing resume, its contents are read so we can pre-fill the steps. The file itself is not kept as a separate document. We keep only the details extracted from it, which become your resume.

    2.4 AI conversations

    Messages you exchange with Remi in the editor, and a short rolling summary of that conversation kept alongside each resume for your reference.

    2.5 Technical data

    IP address, browser and device type, and basic usage activity, used to operate and secure the service.

    3. How we use it

    • To build your resume, your answers are sent to our AI provider to produce the wording, and stored so you can edit it later.
    • To keep you signed in and let you return to your saved resumes.
    • To run and secure the service, including diagnosing faults and preventing abuse.
    • To show advertising, which is how the service is funded. We do not sell your personal data or your resume content.

    4. Who we share it with

    We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the providers needed to run the service (hosting, email delivery, and the AI provider that generates your resume wording), and with law enforcement where legally required. We do not send your resume to employers, recruiters or job boards; that is yours to do.

    5. AI processing

    Resume content is sent to our AI provider to produce the output you asked for. It is not used to train foundation models. See How we use AI for what the assistant can and cannot do.

    6. International data transfers

    Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including where our hosting and AI providers operate. We take steps to ensure it is handled securely wherever it is processed.

    7. Cookies and advertising

    Today we set only what the service needs to work: keeping you signed in and remembering interface preferences. We do not currently run advertising or analytics cookies.

    The service is funded by advertising, so this will change. When we begin serving ads, we and our third-party advertising partners will use cookies and similar technologies for that purpose, and these may collect information about your visits to this and other sites to show relevant ads. Where the law requires it, we will ask for your consent before any such cookie is set. You can also control cookies through your browser settings.

    8. Security

    We use encryption in transit and standard access controls. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

    If a data breach occurs despite these measures, we will take reasonable steps to investigate and limit its impact, and will notify affected users where required by law. We are not liable for any data breach or unauthorized access to your data, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

    9. Your rights

    Depending on where you live, you may have rights under data protection laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK) or CCPA (California), including the right to access, correct, export or delete your data. Saved resumes cannot be deleted from within the app, so contact us and we will action your request within a reasonable time. Write to support@getairesume.com.

    10. Retention

    We keep your data while your account exists, and for a limited period afterwards where we are legally required to.

    11. Children

    The service is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

    12. Changes to this policy

    We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy. We will update the effective date above when changes are made.
